Not to be too critical, but the Sparks Rally ain't even close in size to ROT. But it is as wild, and probably way less expensive.

Not really……ROT was like $50 or $60 maybe? With that you get a free t-shirt. Sparks was about the same money, but no t-shirt. They may have offered $1 beers though. ROT let you bring in beer if you want to. Otherwise their beer was pretty high. I think you could get a case for like a bit more than $25…… if I’m not mistaken. I just bought some from the corner store and hauled it in.
Somebody mentioned it being too hot to camp……seriously, I was concerned about that and it ended up that I was pretty comfortable in my tent. I was surprised it wasn’t miserable, but it wasn’t bad at all.

sounds alot like ROT is like the Easyrider rodeo up here in chillicothe ohio, out in a big fairgrounds area they have concerts and events all day but the real party is in the campgrounds at night where they have titty alley and the loop that people parade around all night drunk and half naked one big party. We will fit right in lol.

We have a huge rally here in June. Junebug Boogie. I have been going since the first one 7 years ago.

The ROT rally is awesome man. Unfortunately, I missed it this year, but I will definately try to make it to the next one. It gets pretty wild at the campgrounds at night. Everyone parades around and around the roads leading through the campgrounds. Lots of naked or half naked chicks. Ofcourse, some of them I would have rather not seen with their clothes off lol, but not all women have perfect bodies. They always have good concerts too. Don't spend too much time at the campground and not check out 6th Street though. Lots of great bars and clubs there. Lots of good rock and blues bands to be found in Austin in the bars. As far as it being too hot to camp, I don't agree with that at all. Yes it is hot during the day, but it actually gets quite comfortable at night. It's a great rally, and I highly recommend it.

I have been the last 3 years, lotsa fun!!! But it is ****ing hot and thats coming from someone thats lives on the Mexico boarder! Its about a six hour ride that i stretch out to about 8 or so. Great party great riding in the hill country, should go at least once. I would also stay outa the parade, just head downtown early and enjoy the show!!! Ride safe

Default ROT rally

I went with a bunch of friends this past summer, we rented a camper and they went early (you can go wednesday to setup tents or RVs), then we all rode down through the hill country to austin. If you can, have someone that doesn't ride, drive their car or truck with plenty of beer, because that ****'s not cheap there, especially if you run out late at night. I think cases were around $40-50. It was a great time though, also yeah, the heat is ridiculous, 100+ degrees, plus black top, plus thousands of bikes and cars running next to you. I do recommend paying up for the weekend, so you can go in and out of the campgrounds, plus watch the live bands. Merry Christmas to ya'll!!

Lots of great music downtown, but that is always there, lots of great riding in the Hill Country, but that is always there, lots of great barbcue, but that is always there, lots of good looking women, but they are always there. The number of people is a little much for me and as has been said many times, you really have to be ready for the heat and humidity, it can hurt you.

Yeah, I hit a lot of good eating places while there…. I made a thread over on the ROT message board on the topic and we came up with some really good places. Salt Lick is a don’t miss if you get out on that Devil’s Backbone ride I mentioned out to Luckenbach….it makes a good stop on the way back into town. I personally love Gueros for Mexican. I had the Juan In A Million that they all talked about, but wasn’t blown away by it. Maybe I got the wrong thing.

We got to see Hank Jr. for our admission price last year….which I thought made it a no brainer to go to. I had never seen Hank Jr. before. They had a pretty impressive lineup if you can deal with Texas country music. I’m interested to see what they offer next year.

I rigged up a little collapsible cooler on my solo rack. When rolled up I used the tiny bungee cords to keep it on there and then kept some big ones inside it when I filled it with beer and strapped it down. It worked amazingly well for me. I could only get about a 12 pack at a time, but I seemed to manage with that and there is a store right outside of the fairgrounds with pretty fair beer prices to restock.

It’s about a six hour ride for me. I may do it again next year. It was a really fun experience for me. People were pissed off about the people with water guns spraying everybody who didn’t want to be sprayed – with cameras and whatnot, but I got lucky and never got sprayed.

I went last year as a spectator...had just moved to Austin a few months before. Had a pretty good time and enjoyed seeing all the bikes at the end of the parade route. It's pretty cool hearing the rumble of all those bikes bouncing off the buildings downtown.

I plan on riding in it this year since I got my Fat Boy. Hopefully the wife will go with me!

As for hot? Yeah, very freakin' hot. Hopefully this year will be a bit cooler.
