I am In WACO. But, have not been. Large crowds are not my bag. Several of my friends have been. From what they told me me it is like A Texas Stugis. Just not as long. Have fun and ride safe.

A friend of mine went last year and had a good time.

Here are a couple of thoughts if you are coming this far south:

1) When coming through Oklahoma, make sure to travel south through the southeastern portion of the state. You can wind through some nice mountain/scenic roads just north of Broken Bow, Oklahoma. Its also a good place to rent a cabin for an overnight stay and soak your butt in a hot tub.

2) If you are going to be in Austin, go ahead and ride about 4 more hours and hit South Padre Island. Outside of Spring Break, you can enjoy a lightly populated barrier island with really nice beaches and fishing opportunities.

I have gone for a few years and enjoy it but it is only a short ride for me down 35. The weather in Texas that time of year is very warm and the traffic in Austin can be a challenge. It is a great party though. Hit the Hill Country great rides and its a blast.

Gone three years in a row--this coming year will be four. It is hot--very hot. Traffic sucks big time. It can be expensive. Do not get into the parade Friday night going to 6th street unless you like hot bikes. I know someone that got his bike stole out of the hotel parking lot. We have a blast but it is a challenge sometimes. Takes me about four hours to get there.

I think you are being generous when you say the weather is very warm.....I believe what you really mean is that it is hotter than hell. Temperatures are easily over a 100F and can be even hotter in the parking lots, and it does not get much cooler after the sun goes down. Of course this is nothing a little ice cold beer cannot take care of.

Went two years back with some buddies. Man, traffic sucked and was it ever freaking hot. But otherwise had a great time.

Padre Island is awesome, too. I would rather make that the destination than ROT.

I went last year. Craziest party I’ve ever been to man. Yeah, it was hot. I parked my *** in air conditioned bars in town during the hottest parts of the day. I was amazingly comfortable at night in my tent though. Check out the ROT message board and you might get to know a few people to save you a spot at a prime camping location.

I LOVE Austin and lived there for a few years – so, it was a blast for me just to get back down to Austin. Yeah, Austin traffic sucks. Try to stay off I 35 if you can. It seemed like it was bumper to bumper all day long – not just rush hour.

I guess I can’t post pics of the *****…..just imagine seeing more ***** than you probably ever will in one place in your life. Bring beads.

Campsite behind Paradise Bar:

Our campsite host…..she ended up one day in her tent with nothing but a wash cloth over her cooter laid out with both tent doors wide open. Pretty crazy.

The Oasis on Lake Travis:

Devil’s Backbone out to Luckenbach……nice ride!

Luckenbach, TX – biker mecca

Carlos and Charlies on Lake Travis:

I didn’t intend to do the bike parade, but got caught up in it on a beer run and just went ahead with it….. It wasn’t all that bad:

Sam’s BBQ…..some good stuff if you can find the place:

I had a blast! I’m not for sure if I’m going to do it next year or not, but I was sure glad to experience it.
