for me, too cold is when it distracts from riding in any way.
but I thought absolute zero is when you tick off your spouse!

just got back from about a one mile quik run to test out my new pcv and i think i need a ear transplant....actually i think they froze and broke off in the wind somewhere. its a mindnumbing 28°f. my new pcv seemed to work well in the 10 minutes i rode it tho so that made me smile. I will be driving the cage up to the sportsbar shortly to watch the games. a shield might have helped, but i wouldnt have looked cool- altho i'm sure i still looked like a dumbass anyway, lol. got my fix for today

I figure it's too cold when I'm dressed like the michelin man, and still shivering.

You just have to dress for the weather. 9 degrees out that two of us rode.

I've found my cut-off point! Until I buy warmer clothes, at least. 30degrees, I can handle, below that is just too cold for normal jeans/jacket/gloves.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think ice can begin forming on the roadways at 37 degrees... that's my limit (i.e. - anything over 37 degrees and NO salt on the roads).

Never too cold for beer! If you have to break your pee off to zip your pants, it's to cold to ride

If you come to a stop and can't hold the bike up because you're frozen, then it's too cold to ride. But really you're probably not dressed warm enough.

Bad to do such short rides in extreme cold. Condensation builds up in the cold weather inside your engine with the oil. You need to get it real hot to evaporate the water. If you are going to run it, you should go at least 10 miles.

I don't ride if it's below 40. If it's below that it's just too damn cold for these old bones.
