Would like to hear from someone who is 6' tall, with an electraglide, and an aftermarket windshied. I'm looking for one with what I believe is called a recurve, or a curve lip at the top. Need to know the correct height to order. Any advice would be greatly appeciated, so I can avoid ordering several. Would like to get it right the first time.
Thanks Jonnierock
Wish I could help, I'm 6' tall and ride an Ultra BUT, my new shield from Long Ride Shields (8" recurve) just arrived yesterday so I haven't been able to ride with it yet. FWIW, I have a 9" Memphis Shades shield (no recurve) on there now and like it but it was getting pretty scratched up. With the recurve I went ahead and dropped down to an 8" to give that a try.
Jonnie.. been down this road too many times until I landed on a shield that works perfect for me and a lot of folks here. You will also get as many opinions on shields are there are riders.
I'm 5-10 and use the 10" light gray on my UC and the 9" dark gray on my SESG. I can see over both shields easily with inches to spare and the wind buffeting is gone. Call or email Matt, he is a sponsor here and has great customer service and the price is right. Every time I ordered a shield from him I had it in less than three days.
6'2", 34" inseam. I have a Windvest 10" recurve. The top of the stock shield was directly in my line of sight, the Windvest is below and out of the way. It does as good a job as the stocker at keeping crap out of my eyes, and I actually have less buffeting.

Hey Stro, how ya been?
I too had a MS 9" and hated the buffeting it caused. (it's in the trash along with others I have tried) The 10" LRS is about 9.25 when it is installed. It hits me even at my nose height. When you get a chance to ride and test that new shield you will be very happy with it.

I hope so! I'm a little worried about it being too short but we'll see.
It's going to vary a little, depending on seat height, etc.
On my 2010 Limited, I have a 9 1/2" tinted Clearview. It has a slight recurve, so it acts like a 10+". I'm 5' 11", and can see the ground from about 20 ft out. No noticeable buffeting. It's been to Sturgis twice -- I moved it over from my '07 EG Classic.
I am 6-1 and I run a clearview 9 1/2. best thing to do is place some tape on your current shield and measure it. Height preferences vary from person to person.
