my opinion: HOG, what a phuckin joke!
National membership isn't worth the 45 bucks you gotta pay for it.
Local Chapters are full of the most arrogant, stuck up bastards you will ever meet in your life. To many rules, and group rides with with people who shouldn't even own a bike, let alone ride one.
to each his own, I'll pass on HOG

Blah, blah, blah. If you don't think it's worth it, DON'T JOIN. Now wasn't that easy?
Back in 1988 I became a member when I bought my firt new HD, an '89 Softail Custom, I renewed until the 5 yr mark, back then, once you hit 5 yrs, you could pay $150 and become a member for life (HD ha ssince stopped this practice), so I paid $150 and never had to pay again. Now I get my patch, pin and map every year since. But I long ago let my local membership expire and had I not bene a life mem. since '93, I would have let the national one expire too...
Im with you stevie boy just returned from holiday and found my membership's due,and as you say it seems to have gone up by about 10 quid on last year, and for what, a mapbook the same as last years, badges i dont wear, and 4 magazines with not a lot in them, so i dont think ill bother renewing in future.
The only real advantage I've seen with having it was last year in Milwaukee at the 105th. They had FREE concerts for HOG members, and only HOG members were allowed in. And the concerts were good ones, ZZ TOP, Joan Jett, Kid Rock.
kid rock really?? lol
hog just aint my cup of tea, i got the map why i need a new one every year? patch i don't think i put in on anything i like and ruin it, pin big deal probaly made in china.
