Its the only time I have to talk on my cell or text so stay the heck away.............................................. .................................................. ............
If they want to pull up next to me, more power to them. If they have plenty of space on their right, I'll pull up next to them if I'm in a talkative or head-noddin' mood.
and what if they aren't in a "talkative" or "head-noddin" mood??
some people are ok with strangers invading their personal space and some, like me, ****ing HATE it when someone tries sharing my personal space.
I know that if I want to say hi or "nod my head" I'll invite the rider up to join me....otherwise back the **** off....
who are we to presume our presence or company is wanted or accepted?
that's why I'll always stand by the saying "don't join unless invited"
Nahhhhhhh I give him his room and hope that others give me mine. Who knows if he just bought it and can't ride a lick? Maybe he takes off and comes right over onto you. Maybe his piece o chit bike blows the motor and throws oil all over your new HD Shirt, jacket, jeans, drawers, belt, socks and shoes. Or maybe I'll do the same on him. Ya never know
Most of the times I pull to the far left or right of a lane at stops its just to keep the tires out of the oil strip. If we're riding together or you need directions come on up, otherwise stay back.
Not sure I understand this....Some guy pulls up beside you to say, "nice day for a ride eh?", or "nice bike" and your going to pull a gun on him????
If I feel chatty or have a question for the rider and he leaves proper space I'll pull up. I never get upset with another rider doing the same to me.
First in first out.
First off, it's just bad protocol to roll up on a PH if you don't know him. If I don't know you, I don't know what your intentions are.
Second, the entire lane belongs to the bike. No matter if it's in the left, middle or right side of the lane. It's lawfully my lane. All 3 parts of it.
If someone is feeling chipper and wants to ask something, do it from behind. Try to get my attention. If I want you next to me, I'll wave you up.
Same thing on a freeway or surface street, if you try to pass me in my lane, prepare to get knocked off.
I think riders lose some common courtesy and common sense just because we all ride Harleys.
Respect is a big thing. I was riding thru town, pretty much in the left part of the lane. I had this jerk pull up and ride in the right side of the lane beside me. I was not riding with this guy, did not know who he was. My thought was, I have to get out of this mess before we have a real mess. I don't like it if someone comes in uninvited, therefore I don't go in uninvited.
