I forgot to say congratulations. No one should take that crap. You stood up (with help) and won! YAY!I know it wasn't easy. It never is. My hat is off to you
oldncrzy thank you .... I learned a good lesson here
congrats, i will remember that if i ever get a ticket, as i am always the one guy who will fight every single ticket i receive. even if i am guilty i will spend hours tryign to find any loop hole out of it LOL and have no problems goign to court over chit.
when it comes to traffic violations i tell everyone even if you are guilty fight it tooth an nail, if noone fights these things it send the message that we are complacent.
edit to add sometiems if you dig enough you can find similer cases where someones gotton off on the same or similer ticket, just dont be afraid to dig i nthe law library and go back years and years. if you show up with a 12"+ stack of supportign documents very likely you will walk off scott free just so the judge and crown consel doesnt hae t oread through all those documents LOL

The North Vanc RCMP & West Van PD will be running a sound test for Motorcycles this spring. Bring your bike in and have the sound test done with an amnesty for anyone with pipes that belong on jet engines so that you can get it home or fixed. VPD will have one shortly after. They are serious about clamping down on the loud bikes this year so they'll let us know if our bike will pass or not without the risk of a ticket right there.
Once the date and location are firm I'll post here and at as many bike shops as I can.

Watch Guy...does that mean they are setting up an inspection station for these tests? Under a controlled environment? That would be fine if in the future when they "tested" Harleys out on the streets somewhere they could somehow duplicate the same environment
Dont get me wrong, I know whats coming as well. I am very respectful of my exhaust noise at all times especially in the city, but
if they are planning road side checks and then issuing tickets in the future, then they better be prepared to meet the requirements of the MVA or change the law with respect to controlled environment.....or bikers rights organizations like BCCOM will be there to help protect yours and my rights
glad thing went your way.
this last weekend i was speaking to the BCCOM rep at the vancouver bike show and actually was reading the flyer prior to logging on this morning....coincidence or fate ?!?!?
i'm thinking of joining because lobbyist groups seem to be the only way to "get heard" in this province.
leftcoast carl.

Leftcoast....I think it's fate Its $45 a year to join or $55 per couple. Well worth the bucks.
to have the perfect setup for sound checks out in traffic. That's not what this sound check is all about anyway. It's just to give a rider an idea of where his or hers bike sound levels are at. These cops will answer any questions about the BC MVA that you may have. The test site has to be out of the way so traffic isn't effected and ride by readings can be done safely. There is no hidden agenda with the test. As far as db readings done during a traffic stop, that isn't really part of this equation. This is ONLY for rider information. Hopefully the lawyers of the BCCOM can deal with the questions regarding test's done out on the streets 'in traffic' and the tickets or fines levied then.
