I am not a chaps guy, so alot of mornings are too cold for me. When I want to drive to work on my HD, I cant because the morning air is too cold. Going home is no problem. I cant wear jeans, I have to wear dress pants.
Anyway, I cant see myself in chaps. Just not for me. Are there any alternatives to help out my legs for getting too damn cold.
Textile riding pants. There are literally a ton of manufacturers. Tourmaster, Fieldsheer,Firstgear,Aerostich, HD has alot to choose from also. I am a Tourmaster guy myself.
i bought a pair of the leather overpants. they will fit over your workpants, snap halfway up your legs and zip the rest of the way. i really like them and hopefully provide a little more protection if needed. i think i paid like 60 or 70 bucks for them online at one of the discount motorcycle websites.
I ride to work and have to wear dress pants. Like you, I didn't want to wear chaps and can't wear jeans to work. I wear some over-pants. I've had other brands, but my favorite by far are my Tour Master pants. They are so comfortable. They have removable armor at the knee and hips. They're easy to get in and out of thanks to the side entry zippers. They came with liners for cold weather, but I found them to be too warm. The coldest I've ridden in is about 35 degrees and I couldn't feel the cold air at all! I highly recommend the Tour Master gear. I also have a TM denim jacket that is awesome. (their gloves aren't bad, either!)

I know what you mean about wearing dress pants...I have to wear dress pants as part of my uniform for work...used to roll up my pants and put them in my bag for work and change out of my jeans into the pants...now that I have chaps...i say 'screw it, lets ride!' some times I think I'm the only guy going to work w/a smile on my face. The chaps only take a quick minute to put on/off with a lil practice...start the bike up (let her warm up a lil bit) put on the chaps...good to go! Maybe you could get some soft lowers or hard...and get some of those pant leg straps that keep your pants from riding up your legs? over pants is another option...? all I can say is riding into work is fun...riding home is funner...lol
