Well, I've been called a lot of things worse than "Dork" over the years, so I'm not going to worry about it.
Actually I find the term "Dork" to be kind of amusing, as I've never heard that word used in 'real life'. Guess I must hang around with different types of people.
If I was wearing a vest with patches or 'colors' or whatever, and someone walked up to me and called me a "Dork", I'd probably just laugh at them...
I believe I remember using the word dork in school about 30 years ago. But you're right - if someone came up to me and said it now, like you, I'd probably fall down laughing.
Welli Wear Patches in honor of who i am and where ive been and the Brave men and women that have fought and died for MY Country
BUT like Jetpat said i would probably fall down laughing myAZZ off. But then i would get up punch theSOB in the face and send him to the nearest Hospital
LMFAO
I have called a dork before so hey what ever. I wear my leather vest that has HOG stuff all over it when we do a charity ride, or some function with another group like Gold Wings of America. Yes they help us with rider turn out and we help them the same way for charities. I am big into charities. Reason why I wear it is to let it be know we are there.
I wear my regularleather vest when its cold so no wind can get through my zipper area of my jacket to me.
I wear my blue jean one when its a bit cool but notbad. My chest gets cold but myarms are normally fine. The late spring late summer months.
I like my vests they are functional. Only one patched heavily is the HOG group though. I want the community to know we areactive and productive in our communities.
No vest, no patches, never will. If I wanted to look like a dork I'd become a Shriner.
So I wear a vest with patches and I'm a dork ??? I have a feeling this will be a pretty inflamatory statement that will get a lot of response.
To answer the original post, I wear one vest that has my club colors (patches), and then when I can't wear that (or for some reason it's not appropriate,or other reason), I have another one that right now just has a couple patches (yes, one is a HD patch), and I intend to add more if I ride someplace special, as a memento. Or, maybe a quote that reflects my sentiments, personality, etc.
I have a vest and I've put a few patches on it. I have been putting the state patch on for each state I ride in for memory sake. Just one of those things I like to do.

No vest, no patches, never will. If I wanted to look like a dork I'd become a Shriner.
A lot of parents who have kids being treated at the Shriner's burn hospitals would take issue with that statement. What the hell do you know aboult Shriner's, anyway. Get informed! Yes, I'm a Shriner, & proud of it. I was in the Shrine Motor Corps for years & I can tell you us "dorks" can ride those EG's.

None of us here have to be apologetic if we wear a patch,
Just cause some young poser puts an azzhole post up about dorks and Shriners,
