Default Anyone tried Maui Jim Sunglasses

I currently have the Oakley sunglasses but the thickness and sharp points on the ear pieces make it uncomfortable to ride after a short time. I was walking thru the mall last week and found a pair of Maui Jim Kapalua sunglasses at $259 that had the smaller wire spring ear pieces. My wife said for me to go home and get my helmet and return to try them on. Anyone have any experience with them? Do they work well, hold up, feel good on your face? Block the sun and wind when riding??? Any other comments I am overlooking?

Never tried them. I 've tried a couple different makes in the past 10 years but keep on coming back to my favorites...Wiley X RomerII's.

My wife has a pair of Maui Jims. She has been riding with them over the past 2.5 years. She doesn't complain about any discomfort, even with a 3/4 helmet. However, from as much riding as we do, I feel bad that such an expensive pair of glasses gets beat to crap from road grime and bugs. I do have to say they have held up pretty well. The only issue she's had with hers is that she has replaced the nose pads 2 times (about one a year).

Have them use them but don't know the model of the pair I've got, they are good and are very comfie under the helmet. The after sales service from them is very good.
I lost one of the small screws couldn't get a replacement, set them in, very fast turn round and came out look like new, lens polished the works was very pleased.

I need rx and have 8 Oakley glasses and have tried a few different brands but have found that the Wiley X slyde that I have works the best for me. I find that plastic is the way to go with helmet use as it flexes for more comfort. All my oakleys start to hurt after a while. Not much help with your original question but figured I would share.

Mai has an amazing lenz, colors pop. Thier customer service is 2nd to none. I went to them after Oakley gave me trouble with a valid warranty claim

Use them for more than 10 years and wouldn't ride with anything else.

I've seen them in Cabella's locked up behind glass and they look great. I have a pair of Wiley X's, w/inter changeable lenses and they are pretty cool, but I always go back to the Rayban Predator II's as they seem to be the only thing that stay on your face in the wind that we have here in the Black Hills.
