Default Are real high apes comfortable?

I saw this in traffic this morning. I don't know if you can see it clearly. The grips were about even with the top of his helmet. Is that comfortable for any length of time?

I know it's his bike and he must like it, I just wondered.

BTW it was a great looking bike.

I used to have pull back drags and I thought I would be sacrificing comfort when I switched to my apes. They are actually very comfortable. Surprised the hell outta me. My hands are at my face level. I can go 5 hours no problem.

Each person is different.

I had 12 1/2 Wild ones (not really tall) on my RK and felt like I was always pulling on them. Rolled them back slightly thinking I needed more elbow bend but it didn't help.

Went back to the RK highbars.

To each their own,

Krusr

I ride with 16's which put my hands about shoulder height and find its very comfortable. You should have asked that guy on the bike if they were comfy or not. lol

16's put me in my riding sweet spot. Perfect leverage for around town and through twisty roads. Got a buddy with high bars ask to ride around block ....and you'll have a winter project.

my '94 fxdwg with 20" apes on 2" risers. rode it all the way from south texas to milwaukee for the 100th h/d anniversary. in this picture, i have them laid back a little which made it pretty comfortable for the long ride; normally though, they're straight up. i love it!
