Actually, it appears you are still afflicted by the "I own the road" attitude which this sentence shows:All it takes is to slowly hug the line and the lane will open up. That says to me, I want that lane, so get out.

Quote: OTR drivers are paid by the mile. So that means if the wheels are not turning you are not getting paid. The slower the wheels turn the less you get paid. I dont come to your work and stand in your way so you cant do your job so I would at least expect the same from you.

Well, dude, I'm not doing my job on the open road now am I? You chose the line of work your in and expecting everyone to get out of your way is wrong. It's your problem, not mine. I will not intentionally get in your way or mess with you in any way, shape or form, but expecting me to cater to you is not going to happen either.
Please do not include me in all those things that "cagers do", because I do not do any of those. It is unfair for you say that I do.

Long stories. late nights, messed with me for over thirty miles and ran me off the road twice. third strike is mine. The original posters name is indication of the mentality of a few. The majority are fine. He probably drives playing banjo music and stops in pickle parks.

In a previous life I owned and operated a truck for a living under my own authority, I've got many miles under my belt, and I am well aware of danger zones, the rules of the road, and how to operate safely around heavy vehicles. My current proffesion still requires that I operate a class 8 vehicle several times a week, and I am still a class A licensed driver with certifications for tank, doubles triples, and hazmat. I have pulled 48 foot doubles over the GW, and descended north LaVeta pass with 45,000 lbs of potatoes in whiteout conditions and two foot of snow more than once, so don't preach to me about commercial vehicle "safety zones".

Those who choose to operate a commercial vehicle in a less than proffessional manner not only make the job that much more difficult for the truly proffessional drivers, they also create extremely unsafe conditions for innocent drivers on the highways. The right to operate a commercial motor vehicle carries a lot of responsibility.

If the guy truly follows his own "rules" he is a complete idiot, and anybody with a lick of sense can see it.

I drove the big ones for 3 years while living in MN, a lotta years ago. I just had a few routes to WI, SD and to IA, all interstate. I never had too much trouble. I had a lot more leeway with time, though. I had lots more time than I needed for each trip so I could afford myself more than 3 blinks to get over if the need arose. I was offered an OTR job with all the pressure and turned it down after driving backup for 3 months. No thanks! One of the toughest gigs around. I was chastised by people saying 'why dont you want a job that all you do is sit on yer @ss all day?' I said, Drive 10,000 miles or so in a rig and get back to me on that,O.K.? The things I saw in those years was unbelievable. The things people would do to save a few seconds, or seriously just to be mean. I am kinda rambling but what I mean to say is, driving a rig versus is a car is lot more involved than a bike to a car. A lot of car drivers tried to give me 'advice' when I was driving trucks. The same as car drivers giving me advice on how to ride my bike. I usually ask them to give me some advice on underwater welding too, cuz they have never done THAT either so they must be an expert.
