Like you said, to each his own.
it doesn't make much difference to me either way what people do with their bike as it's their bike.

all i was saying is being a relatively new rider i look for any opportunity to be on my bike whether it's down the block or 500 miles on a saturday.

hell, i watched my dad load up the trailer for him and his buds going to daytona for like 15 years. they'd trailer down to the carolinas, drop the trailer off at a friend's house, then ride the rest of the way once the weather was nice enough.

nothing wrong with trailering, just saying 750 miles isn't all that big of a hill to climb, especially on an ultra classic.

and no, no passengers for me. the only time the little lady wants to ride is to the beach, so she's on for 20 miles at a time.

Uh... huh!!

To each, his own! 750 miles isn't that bad! It would be a fun trip! Stretch it out over two days or ride it all in one! On an Ultra Classic, riding that in one day wouldn't be so bad at all!

i want to go to sturgis this year. i am taking 2 weeks off to ride from pa. 1700 miles going the highway. 2 weeks is pushing it as far as time goes. i figure 4 days each way. if i only had a week, i would have no choice but to trailer my bike. if i rode down to daytona, thats about 1300 miles but 600 miles would be in the cold. i would trailer down to north carolina. i ride in the 30's but not 500 miles, i would not even enjoy myself. so trailers are needed sometimes.

I used to average 500 miles a day on my Sporty whenever I took a road trip. 750 on a tourer should be a piece of cake.

The trailer is not an option for me. I love to ride and just take my time to get there. I have ridding to training classes in South Carolina in November and folks thought I was nuts. I had a great time and just so enjoy the ralaxing time I have when riding.

To the guy who said something about taking his family, kids don't belong in Sturgis! I've been there so I can speak from experience. In August, we left Atlanta on Friday morning and pulled into Portland Or. Monday afternoon so trailering 750 miles with an Ultra is unheard of.

Who knew you couldnt do what you wanted with a bike you purchased from working on your job. I really got to get a copy of the rule book. I can understand some smack talk between friends but wow...In the back of a pick up...really...I think they should sell their bikes because they obviously dont know biker dos and donts.
