I bought my bike to ride too and I ride it extensively, but primarily to enjoy the scenery, not to rack up miles, much less at night. I can trailer my bike at night after a full day at work and arrive at my destination the next day, in relatively good shape. I doubt you'll do the same with your bike with a passenger behind you.
Like you said, to each his own.
That's true enough, but if you rode the bike, you would get another whole day of riding in (there and back). It's like they say, do it now, you'll have plenty of time to rest when you're dead.
My first passion is 4X4 trucks. My second passion is towing something. I have towed over 30 years now. Campers, boats and utility trailers. My third passion is collecting air cooled HD's from each family. I just need a Dyna to complete it.
I love to combined all my passions in one event.
Here I am ready to do it all which is tow my climate controled trailer with my 4X4 on a wonderful adventure for my Ultra.
So give it up with trying to have others do it your way. Stop whining and start shining.
By the way I did 12,000 miles on my bikes in 09 including riding the AlCAN and the Dalton to the Arctic Circle. What did you do?
I'm a rider never had trailered a bike . But I know most all bikers never ride there bikes. It,s just a , I have that toy THING And time to show it off today. I'm on my 7th bike and will over 100,000 + of riding.
Ride when I can, trailer when I want to, either way it is my choice and I could care less what any wannabe thinks of what I am doing. I do often wonder though why can't people do what they want nad not be dicks about someone else doing what they want.
Some may think riding to a particular destination makes them more of a biker than another person who towed in. Those poor dumb basturds, true freedom is what you want it to be, not what someone else thinks it should be.
I get the impression you trailer's are the wannabes, Kind off people who always have a excuse and its never your fault. I can hear you now telling your friends about your epic rides just leaving out the part about the trailer. I give the guy who flies in and rents a bike more credit than you. But then you do not care what I think.
