Question Noise

Need to get some advice. I have a 2000 RK. Noticed a loud squeaking noise when I let the clutch out especially when the bike is cold. Goes away as the bike warms up. What is it?

Thanks,

Shoop

Check your rear wheel alignment, I had that problem, turned out to be my belt up against on side of the pully. (Wish we had noticed before pulling the primary apart, but I swear it sounded like it was coming from there.

Should have mentioned that it's coming from the front of the bike.

Check front brake calipers. If the brake shoes are riding against the disk, they can cause them to squeek/squeel a bit. I'd pull 'em apart and clean them to make sure they are releasing properly. Also check the brake fluid reservoir for sludge and/or dirty colored fluid. If you haven't any idea when the fluid was changed last, it might be a good idea to do that...

So did mine, I thought if it wasn't the primary, I was gonna check the neck bearings. Just for ***** and giggles, check to make sure your belt isn't riding off to one side.
