Yep. Helmet and eye protection at all times...Lane sharing OK but lane splitting (white-lining) a no-no. Enjoy your trip and ignore what Obama says about Vegas.

Thanks for the info. I haven't heard what he said.

He said people shouldn't 'blow' their kids college money on a trip to Vegas. Imagine, he was as much as saying "Don't gamble because you can't win".
And we all know that isn't true. If people didn't come here and gamble, the casino owners wouldn't have all the money to build fancy palaces would they? Wait a minute, on second thought Obama may have had a valid point.
Seriously, as long as someone exercises self control Vegas is a great place. And for motorcycle riders it offers a lot of good places to ride. We are close to a lake, mountains, scenic canyons, traffic if that is what someone likes, wide open desert if they don't like traffic, etc..
Worked out at Lake Mead at Callville Bay a few years ago over the summer for the National Parks Service. Saw lots of riders stop by for a break at the little restaurant they have there…..probably on their way up to Valley of Fire. Had to be some great riding – if a little on the warm side.
I did see one lady refuse to get back on the bike it was so hot. She called for somebody to come get her. I was amazed at how many people wore full leathers too. It was in ’07 and they said one of their hottest summers…. I’ll never forget being out in that 115 degree heat for eight hours a day.
YES..Just came back.
I rented a Electra glide classic from Eagleriders....
They also have a few Trikes if you wanted to try one of those out.
Pick up the GPS too unless you know where your going.........I didnt know where I was once I got off the strip nd that thing was a godsend.
Enjoy!
Last week BTW it was 60-65 degrees........

I have been to Vegas several times on business, and usually take the wife. We have a great time. we set aside 20 bucks, that's right, 20 bucks for gambling each. And I have never lost money there. Never made much either, my rule is lose the 20, quit, double the money, quit. Then we go to shows, eat the affordable food (not so much as it used to be!) and I found out something. Get married while there! We renewed our vows at the Little White Chapel and it was a hoot, but we told everyone we were doing that, and got a free desert at one restaurant, a discount at one shop, and a free ride home in a limo from the chapel (was a really slow night!). We were going to just get "drive-through" married in the cab, but the chapel offered us the free limo if we got married inside. We paid the cab, and went in. Of course they wanted to sell us rings, flowers, guests, and get Elvis instead of just a pastor above the base wedding price, but we got none of it, had a cheap wedding and a free ride home. Really the best time we have ever had in Vegas.
