I have a new Harley and we bought my wife a Yamaha VStar last year. She has been trying to remove 2 stickers. One is on her crash bar and the other is on her windsheild. Rubbing alcohol will not work and they won"t peel off without scratching the surface of the chrome or winsheild.
Any suggestions.
I used a hair dryer, get the sticker warmed up pretty good and it will peel off, the glue will still be there, i use rubbing alchohol to remove it once the sticker is gone.
no lighter fluid on the windshield!!! welcome to the forum. my wife also has a v-star 1300, nice bike however i don't like the pipes or headlite and fit and finish is not nearly as good as harley. on the otherhand great power and smooth runner. no problems at all in 11000 miles last year. (none on my wide glide in 19000 either)have her check out the yamaha forum at www.yamahamotorcycleforum.com/

they make decal removal wheels ..kinda gummy wil not hurt chrome , but be carefull on the windshield.
Also acetone would probly work for the leftover glue on the chrome, perhaps the same on the windshield(TEST in a spot you will not see a lot first in case it smears the plastic)..I use it to clean paint overspray off my plastic lensd prescription glasses ...never hurt them yet
