As many of you may know, wisconsin residents are deciding to open-carry their pistols more these days. Something Ive always kind of wondered is if its legal to open carry on the bike? I know you cant in a car because the car itself is concealing your weapon, but with the bike, its still out in the open for everyone to see. I'm wondering if it falls under the whole transporting a weapon that isnt in a case rule? Anyone know the answer to this?
As long as the weapon, be it a gun,a knife,a machete, etc. or any other object that has the capability of doing bodily harm is plainly visible then it is perfectly legal in some but not all states or municipalities. Where I live I can strap a Hogleg on and go any where I need to without a worry, but I wouldn't want to go to downtown Kansas City and wander around. Cityfolk tend to blow things out of proportion on things such as that.
In MD we have to demonstrate "theats against our life" in order to get a carry permit. I've been wondering if the recent statements from Al Quaeda encouraging attacks against military targets in CONUS, as well as the shootings that have occurred, would constitute a threat to those of us in uniform.
If your State is an "open carry" State, and ya have a carry permit, don' sweat it....Indiana has some of the most "lax" carry laws as far as "where" ya can go w/it, but must be "concealed"....must have a concealed carry permit......
Theres no open carry permit in wi, and no concealed carry at all..came close but our "great" gov doyle vetoed it...twice. gladly hes not running for another term
Sorry to hear that, even here in the PRK I've got a CCW. I'm not familiar with the laws of your state, but use a good retention holster and good luck on getting CCW in your state with the next governor!
I luv VA.
We have open carry, fairly easy to get CCW, can buy guns at the gun show after the simple backround check.
Now Starbucks says they follow the state law and has no problem allowing people to open carry in the store...so what happens...the anti-gun people protest in front of Starbucks.

You know what kills me about that, i bet those same damn liberal anti-gun idiots wouldnt be protesting if while drinking their whipped mocca lattee someone walked in with a sawed-off demanding money and about 10 other patrons pulled on him with their big bad guns and defused or put him down. They would be kissing whoever saved thems ***. Idiots i swear. I ccw on the bike, and plan on Open-carrying here also soon as we don't have any law prohibiting it from what i have researched.
See what happens to those idiots if **** ever hits the fan type scenario and we destabilize they will be the first to go

Yeah, and the day Alexandria has their St. Pattys Day parade. That way they could really spread their 'anti-gun' word. But I wonder...
Why did they pick Starbucks? Why not McDonalds? Target? Costco? Best Buy? Giant? Etc... You can open carry (VA) in all of the above, but why did they single out Starbucks for a protest?
