Especially if they Still use real bikes...The local dept here, decided they didn't like their almost free lease deal, and decided they would rather own their cop bikes,so to save money, they stopped using harleys....I saw one officer on a cute little 500cc step through, looked like a big scooter,I laughed all the way home, how'd ya like to be a fly on the wall when that was announced to the officers involved? that they no longer had a harley, but a scooter instead?
BTW I thought that was the ugliest meter maid i ever saw...
Any chance of deferring admission to the motor officer course?
Yeah, there actually is a slight chance of that. The instructor is a good friend and he told me that the attendance is high enough that he may have to split it into 2 classes. If that happens I could go to the second one, but that won't be until the fall. I'm also fairly certain that if I have to bow out, the Chief will approve it again. My fingers are crossed, haven't heard back from the travel agent yet.
Actually there are NO openings in our motor unit right now for supervisors, which is why I'm amazed they approved my request. I think maybe I just wore them down.
BUT...my wife just noticed that our Mexico trip, already booked and paid for, conflicts with the first 2 days of the class. We had originally planned on a 5 night trip and I applied for this so long ago I forgot about it when we extended it to a 7 night trip. I have a call in to the travel agent to see if it's financially feasible to change the dates. 30 minutes ago I was seriously happy, now I'm seriously bummed.
