Default Dumb engine specs question?

The Harley-Davidson site says that the Twin Cam 88B has engine torque listed as:

85.0 ft. lbs. @ 3000 rpm

I've seen other sites list the specs as being noticably lower.
For instance, www.bikez.com puts it as:

74.5 ft. lbs. @ 3800 rpm

Well obviously the second one has the torque as a lot lower than Harleys site.

Which is right?

Where can you get the real straight scoop?

Also, nobody seems to list the horsepower. Why is that?

Harley's horsepower sucks compared to a rice rocket, and they don't want to show it. Torque is great on a v twin, so that's why they push this fact. Look at BMW with their air cooled twins, they do the same. Anyways, numbers don't matter, fun, sex appeal, fun, and did I say fun are all that matters.

ORIGINAL: Joe Scout

Go to www.nightrider.com
Lots of info there, but no stats reported for a dead stock Twin Cam 88B for 2000 and later...that I can find.

The only thing that does matter is sex and torque

I think it's about 68 BHP stock. Someone will correct me if i'm wrong. Slip ons, breather and map bring most bikes to about 85-90. 95 cubes, heads, cams bring it to around 100.

My brother has a Triumph Daytona 1200 that will kick my *** in second gear, but he still wants to ride my bike. Numbers don't matter.

Off topic, skydiving? Cool! I scuba, (self contained underwater breathing apporatus) (spelling?) but want to try sky, and will post a pic when I do.

Skydiving rocks. Been doin it for 15 years.

But everyone is worried about me riding. Go figure.

If you want to try a jump, dont do it right after a dive or you'll get the bends.

My brothers and dad both love SCUBA but I have yet to try it. Cant afford another expensive hobby.
Especially now after buying my new FatBoy
