Last week I went to Clearwater Beach, Florida. I rented a bike from Gregs Custom Cycle www.gregscycles.com in Clearwater and it was all around a great experience. I rented a 1998 Road King that had been customized by Greg. This is the second time I have rented a bike from Greg and both times went very smooth. I have only met him 4 times but have been treated like a friend with respect and great service. I recommend Gregs custom cycle to anyone renting a bike or needing any work done at his shop, he does it all and has been in all the mags and every year at Daytona Bike Week. After you see the pics you will wonder how much I paid for the custom road king?? Same price as renting from HD in Orlando (I rented a HD in Orlando in 2008) Check out his web site or give him a call if you are heading to FL..
I rented the bike for 1 day 9:00am to 8:30am the next day and rode down the FL coastline, had a great time and saw some beautiful country!
Adding to the story, I was out on a beach road in Casey Key, FL and I was turning around and backed into a small rock, just fit between the pipes and just tall enough to put a gouge in the custom paint and custom fiberglass fender. Pretty pissed with myself! Im thinking $500 in my mind I already signed my $ away on the damage deposit it was up to Greg to decide what he wanted to charge..
So I return the bike and let him know right away what happened and he looks at it thinks about it and says ahhh lets see half hour remove paint fade black ahhh $100 bucks.. I was impressed thanked him and was fine with paying that, it wasnt his fault I backed into the rock, and he coulda F'ed me pretty good.. To top off the day he throws in two free t-shirts and can coozies.. Every time I head out to FL I will be renting thru Greg's.
