I bought mine at the end of May. I shoped around and all the
stealers were above MSRP. I asked why and heard every
bull$hit reason there was. I went to one last dealer, they were
slightly higher than MSRP but they were giving $1000 gift
cards. They allowed me to use this as part of down payment.
I asked about the MSRP thing, they told me they do it because
they can. It was an honest answer.....didn't like it, but I can
respect honesty.
In the major areas you can find at least one that does. I know of 3 in the Dallas area that were at MSRP when I was looking last year. Others will jack up the price.
I would not pay over for a Harley. I do not reward stupid greed.
The motorcycle industry is one of the only ones that charge setup and freight. This is really just a way for them to dicount a bike and then get their money back. I know because I sell motorcycles. They charge the setup and freight on all bikes even if they are selling it for MSRP. My dealer sells his big bikes at $800.00 over MSRP. They are honest about it and tell you up front. The dealer North of here sells their bikes at MSRP plus setup and freight which comes to $840.00. Now who is the most honest dealer there.
C&S Harley Davidson in Nashville, Tennessee. I bought my EG there in June only thing I paid was MSRP+freight+ 220 for FI, no fees. Also got a back rest and luggage rack(quick detach), and warranty. Total price out the door was 19,500.00. There website is www.cshd.com, check them out.
Right now, you may find an '06 for at or maybe a little below MSRP. I seriously doubt if you will find the same for the '07's. Like others have said though it really depends on the dealer.
