I was on vacation in South Padre last week and it was so windy most days I couldnt ride. The first day I took a ride I rode across the Causeway and when I hit the top of the bridge I got hit by at least a 45 mph cross wind. Thank God there were no other vehicles around me cause the wind blew me into the other lane before I could correct it. Talk about a pucker factor having to ride back across to get to the camp site. Consistent 30mph winds the whole time I was there. Not at all what I was expecting or I would have left the bike at home. I was able to get a few nice rides on the beach with all the beach bunnies out. lol
A guy got blown over in front of the beer store in Waxahachie today. Yup...dropped it on account of the wind.
There were a few times at red lights I was wondering.
A steady 30 mph wind from the side followed by 45 mph blast for many (long) seconds.
Here I am braced and pushing back against it.....then all the wind STOPS.
I'd almost push myself over !
Had to add...
Finished a long ride Sunday Ft Stockton to San Antonio on I-10 I have no Ideal how hard the wind was but it sure beat the Hell out of both of us. 80 mph posted speed limit, cant pass or be passed. Leaning into the wind 90% of the ride. NOT A FAN. But I know some of you guys have more time on two wheels so I ask you how the hell do you get around that freaking 18 wheeler without getting BLOWN into the ditch?
