Deuce, Bagger or Custom Special Construction?
Yours looks way newer, with more normal stock parts.
dont' forget to leave some $$$ for an aftermarket seat...
Have fun.

He got tired of that, plus he grew to hate the rear fender and stretched tank and traded for a 09 NT last yr.....
Just at least be aware of the lack of parts issue with the Deuce.
Need a book of parts and mods just for the Deuce would be great..

I will vote for the Deuce. You know you really want it.
The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
I rode it solo last June from eastern OK to Tucson, AZ, and back, via a circuitous route spanning 8 days (including a day and a half in Tucson). Total of 2800 miles as I recall. Last leg of the trip was one 680 mile day, half of it in 50 degree temps w/rain. I say this to let you know that my Deuce is not a garage queen or a Starbucks Cruiser. I've ridden my Deuce when it was at its best and at its worst.
Here's what I have found (for me):
* During that long trip, overall I was very pleasantly surprised at the comfort. No doubt that is the Sundowner helping.
* Solo: IF I get too aggressive in tight twisties, I can hear/feel a bit of rubbing... but that lets me know to ease off. I usually ease off another notch or two when two-up with the wife.
* Forward controls look cool... but in a crunch are not as good for total bike control as are mid-controls. (Such as when the emergency need arises to get up off the seat such as you do on a dirt bike.)
* The solo ride is "firm", but not objectionable. Two-up we will occassionally bottom the rear on a hard-edged bump.
* Two-up, the wife is good for about 250-300 miles with the Sundowner and her Air Hawk pad. I will say that IF I was ONLY going to tour with the wife on rear pillion... a more comfortable ride for her would come into play. (i.e. Ultra, etc.)
* It is stable at all speeds I have tried (up to near 100 MPH).
* Low center of gravity means it is acceptably nimble when turning around, backing, etc.
* I do note a bit of "wallow" in some wide, fast, sweeping turns. Me thinks that is just the nature of an HD/big bike.
For me, I love the aggressive looks of a Deuce. I also like having a Harley model you don't see that often. Baggers are everywhere... but only a chosen few hear the call of a Deuce.

IF your heart is set on a Deuce, don't settle for something else.
