Default I Got My Springer Back!!!!!

FINALLY!!! THREE MONTHS after my Dec 23 crash, I got my Heritage Springer Back from the dealership.... I am 50/50 on my satisfation level... I am quite pleased with the repairs done, as far as they went... So far, I have only noticed two issues, both small. The throttle lock thumbscrew is missing and the wire loop which kept my throttle cables in place is missing. The loop was attached to the mounting bolt on the right side of the fork and kept the throttle cables from bouncing all around.

I am also a bit annoyed about the fact that two other issues, which I pointed out to the service advisor when my Springer first went to them (two chips on the right side tank and torn blue trim on the right saddlebag) were completely ignored. Additionally, I was told over a month ago that a supplement was needed, (additional parts and labor $518.00) I work in the auto repair industry and I very well understand how insurance repairs work. However, the advisor knew about the supplement for a month and did not file it until last Thursday, holding my Hog hostage (ALL repairs were complete) until the insurance estimator could return for inspection. My final issue was that I had been promised a 10% discount. When the advisor wrote the estimate, she included the discount then sent it to the insurance company giving THEM the discount ($620.00) and THEN wanted a supplement for $518???? AFTER giving the insurance company a $600 discount??

I was somewhat angry about all this, but I kept my cool and spoke to the dealership owner, outlining each issue. He says he will speak with the advisor and see if there is something he can do for me....

More info and pics will be coming....

I know your pain. Accident last May...the first shop has the bike till October, promised me a good deal, didn't do the chrome lowers like I asked, jerked me around on price and ended up telling me to "get-lost" because I wanted my bike fixed right. Brought it to second dealer with bent trees and frame. Finally got the bike back mid-February.

First thing is complain, write letters to the dealer, corporate, and your insurance. Let them know there are outstanding problems. The first dealer who blew me off eventually got reprimanded from the MOCO and black listed by State Farm for leaving me stranded with an unsafe motorcycle.

I hope it all works out for you. IMO, the Heritage Springer is the best looking bike that HD has ever made. And I own a RK Classic (#2 in my book )
