Come at it straight but off center away from the hinge side. Turn sharply towards the hinge side so the end of the bar clears the door frame, once the end of the bar gets past the door frame turn and lean, the other side should make it in.
You may want to put reference marks on the ground and door frame to guide you in and let you know when to start turning.
As you mentioned repositioning the mirrors should help, I loctited the jam nuts on my mirrors so I could loosen them (with the stem) and then swing them back into position without using tools.
nice, kinda like folding the mirrors on your car in when you park on the side of the road.
AR-15 Duece... I need the lowering kit before it will fit in the doggy door. lol! A new door on the backside is what I plan to do in the future but lack the funding right now.
Here is the situation... I have an 09 Street bob and at my house the carport is screened in. I have a 36" door and my bike is just a liitle too wide. . .
Haven't done it often (just for hurricanes) but I had a similar problem getting my '05 Softail Deluxe thru a 36" door. I slipped the hinge pins out and set the door aside (took only a minute or so). Still had to wiggle the front end a bit, but it was easier to get the bike in and out.
Wow, almost all good suggestions here. I think you have it right. And adding another door in another location on the porch would be grand as I don't think that lowering will get you anywhere near the doggy door.Popping the hinge pins on the screen door might give you all the room you need!? Ida kno! Only takes a minute to measure.
Next question!
When I first got my bike I was in a rental house and parked my bike every night (that I was off from work) in the kitchen, the door opening was only 32.5" I just walked the bike in and cocked the bars to get them through (a pain in the a$$) but it was do able.
