Eagle manufacturing makes bomber cans in a wide variety of sizes. For some reason I'm having difficulty copying and posting the links to them. My last Eagle came from NAPA auto parts. These are spill proof and vent free for safer stowage in a bagger.
Their are a wide variety of shapes and sizes. I have a gallon and a half round can that has given flawless service for the last ten years. I have seen smaller square cans that look quite acceptable for bagger use. no vent and no smell will escape.

These days there are very few places with more than 200 miles between
gas stations.. Not worth the risk of carrying gas in my opinion..
you obviously haven't ridden in pats of Texas and New Mexico

That is interesting, but it wouldn't work on my bike. Cool idea, though..

Also, instead of taking up bag space, you can mount a fire extinguisher bracket to a fender, swing arm or fork. The msr bottles fit great. Use hose clamps or zipties for mounting the bracket, and away you go.

MSR or Sigg bottles are aluminum and built to contain white gas for backpacking stoves, and work well for any other gasoline as well. They're extremely sturdy, lightweight, relatively small diameter, have replaceable thick gaskets, and are easy to pour into your gas tank. I've used them for years, and never had one leak.

I carry a 1.5 liter MSR type bottle on road trips, have had to use it once, worked perfectly and got me to the next station. I bought mine on ebay, less than 20 delivered to my door.
How do you guys fill yours, I fill it out of my gas can at home, the gas pumps nozzle is a bit tricky to fill that little bottle.

I have seen an old small beer keg strapped to the back seat of a bagger. Linked to the main tank for long distance riding. Doubled as a back rest, too.

If riding solo I use two 1 1/4 gallon plastic gas cans and bungee one to each passenger floor board. you would have to change out the pegs for floor boards with the Street Glide but, that would give you an extra 2 1/2 gallons of gas and won't take up valuable space.
