I ordered the 2007 Night Train and I have two wheel options, the standard and the profile. I chose the standard since I prefer the blackened rear wheel and the upgrade is too much for a serviceman's budget. When asking about the difference at a dealer, they told me that the profile option is better because then you don't have to worry about rain/water building up on the ridge of the standard rims. Is this really a problem? If so, how much? It seems to me that you can just make sure to keep the rims dry, which I will be doing to baby the new bike anyway.

RE: Question on wheelse
I never heard that excuse used for getting the more expensive wheels. Wow, what lengths a dealer will go to get a little more profit tacked on. Go for what you like. Don't buy the BS.
I got rid of the standard front wheel on my 03 Train and replaced it with a ThunderStar. I hate spokes and don't like running with tubed tires. Very hard to fix in the middle of nowhere.
