Ok, I'm a geek in my professional life, but your Iphone and IPod do not have hard drives, they use "flash" memory. That said, I always carry a phone when I ride, turned off to conserve battery and route all calls to voice mail, then buried in the saddlebag until I need it or get home, whichever comes first. Been ridin' 35 years, can't see myself riding down the road and scrolling through my playlist at the same time, but hey, to each his own.
Just wonderin', if cage drivers are azzholes for texting, talking and scrolling through a play list while driving, what are we called if we do it on a motorcyle?
I would call you a multi-tasker, unless you screwed up, then you would just be another azzhole.
Well I already ride with it in my pocket, I just want it mounted so I can charge it and so that I can change something when at stop lights and such. I don't really see the difference from having a radio on a bike
really man, and you call me a moron, what a douche bag!!!!!!!!
one more thing I want to thank you for making the roads more safe to drive on!!!!!

It seems you have an issue with people listening to music while riding? Do you wear earplugs? It's no different. Cars have radios, bikes have radios, why would it be an issue to use earbuds and listen to my music while I ride? I happen to take long rides on my bike and sometimes run the battery dead while doing so. If I mount it then that will allow me to use my tender lead to charge it. It appears from the many comments and websites listed that I am not the only one who rides and listens to music. Even the mco has a tank mounted pouch made for phones/mp3 players...
This is the bestest thread I have seen to date. Just TFF.
My gawd, if he wants to carry his damn phone on the tank, let it go. I personally carry mine in my pizza box. My IPOD is in a case with a clip on the back of it and i hook it over my throttle cable. Haven't had any problems.
I like having my phone with me in case the chit hits the fan for me or a brother goes down in the middle of B.F. Egypt and needs emergency help. Don't be so damn judgemental. I mean he asked a simple question that didn't warrant an azz reaming.
I bought this iphone holder, and returned it. I have a cover on my iphone, and the only way it would go into this holder was to take cover off. Even then it was a real pain to get it in. Also, the jack hole wasn't really designed to allow easy threading of the jack into the holder.
So, I need to find another solution, any ideas.

I too have been looking for a way that i can SEE my iphone while riding. When I am on call i have to be able to answer the phone when the OR calls, so i need to see whos calling to decide if i should pull over. Currently, im just not driving my bike when on call, which sucks.
So there are many valid reasons to want to carry the phone in a way one can see it.
