Boom! Audio™ Tank Pouch

This portable music system pouch is designed for motorcycle use. The Neoprene jacket offers hard-core protection for your portable music device, while the built-in magnets hold the pouch securely to the fuel tank. The clear play-through window permits touch-screen control, and the anti-skid interior insert allows the pouch to accommodate players of various sizes. Simply plug in your headphones or connect your in-dash Advanced Audio Radio with an auxiliary cable, and enjoy your music collection. Two access ports are provided for headphone and output cables. Works well with many MP3 and other personal music players, but should not be used with hard-disk memory players. Window measurement: 2.5" W x 4" H.

91003-10

Multi-fit.

MSRP US $39.95

I have this and it works perfectly. No slit at bottom for charging, but your tunes should last pretty much all day. Get a Bluetooth adapter for the iPhone and your helmet. As stated before iPhone uses flash drive for storage, there is no "hard" drive per se o all is safe.

I use the Schuberth C3 helmet with Cardo system, and a better combo than this for all communication needs doesn't exist IMHO.

How about something like this and just velcro it or glue it to a tank strap? http://www.hdaccessory.com/servlet/t...ir-Vent/Detail

Touch screen on the iPhone is activated by the mild electrical signal your skin gives off as well, making gloves a problem. Someone posted a pretty useful thread not too long ago about threading some conductive thread into the tip of your glove so you are able to use the touch screen with gloves on. Not sure where you find the stuff though.

If you have GPS running on your iPhone, then attaching to your tank sounds like a good idea. However, I would just mount it on the handlebar like nearly everyone else does. That way you don't have to look down to view it. GPS, that would be the only reason I would mount it. My Iphone stays in the saddlebag.

I too have been wondering what tank mount options are out there for my iphone. I don't listen to music when I ride, but many times I need to use the GPS on my iphone and I don't have a bluetooth headset for my helmet, so the iphone is no good to me in my pocket. Other times I might need to access my iphone at a stop light for a quick call or text if I'm stuck in the unpredictable & awful DC traffic to let someone know I'm running late or whatever, and it's a pain in the *** to try and dig it out of my pocket.

One would think that there's gotta be a thick rubber case out there that would absorb vibrations of the iphone with a magnet in it to stick to the gas tank, allowing touch screen access on the front. Someone mentioned that magnets might damage an iphone..not sure if that's confirmed or not, but I have the Apple Care protection plan on my iphone, so I'm guessing it would be covered if the magnets somehow damaged it. Also, iphones don't have SD Memory cards (the verizon one doesn't anyway) so, I don't think you'd have to worry about a magnet deleting any data.

The Boom Audio pouch works well--just make sure that your tank is clean.

Have an iPhone 4 in an Otterbox case. Slips inside the Boom Audio pouch well if you don't use the pad that is included in the pouch.

Held on to the tank well for 9 days and over 3k miles. This was through sunshine, torrential downpours, and thunderstorms that had near tornado winds (although I pulled off the road for that one!).

Only issue I have with it is that there is no way to charge the phone in the Boom Audio pouch.

Cheers.

I tool the excess length that I cut from the bottom of my aZZless chaps and sewed Velcro to it. This wraps around the existing tank strap and stays permanently mounted. Another piece of leather made into a pouch with Velcro sticks onto the mating piece on the tank. I use this setup for my heated vest controller but I'm sure it would work with a phone. I would add anti vibration stuff for a phone though.
