Default Xieds????? Need Help!

Ok guys I bought a set of Xeids from another forum member here awhile back for my father. Well he has finally changed his exhaust and we are going to be installing them tommorrow.

My question is where so the go? I did not get any instructions so I am lost. They will be going on a 07 Heritage. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Check out their website - there are instructions there. Really a very simple install, should take 5-10 minutes

They go between the end of the lead from the O2 sensor, and the cable from which you unplug the sensor lead. Just follow out the wire from the O2 sensor, unhook the first coupling you come to (it snaps together/apart, and has some integral water-resistant seals) and put the XIED between the two. The front 02 sensor (on the front exhaust header) lead goes down to the voltage rectifier regulator area, and the back 02 sensor (rear exahust header) goes up under the seat. (At least that's where they went on my 2010 FXD). If you wiggle the 02 lead around you'll be able to easily identify the correct cable under the seat.

Make certain if you end up with a lot of extra wire tie the bundle off with a wire tie (you obviously don't want them contacting the hot exhaust system or engine), and make sure that when you plug the XIED into the circuit it snaps into place (they can be a little tough to push all the way in....you should hear a click). It's no more difficult than 'daisy chaining' a new piece of cable between the ends that were once connected. One end of the XIED cable is male, and the other female....you can't go wrong. It's about as complicated as hooking extension cords in series.

Yes, the Nightrider site has instructions. They install in just minutes. Unplug the plug that is about 6 or 8 inches back from the 02 sensor in the header pipe and connect the Xied to the ends of the wires you unplugged. The plugs only go one way so you can't do it wrong. Do the same with the other pipe. You may want to zip tie the wires to secure them at the front. Its that easy and they work great. Bike will run smoother and sound a bit deeper.

agreed.......If I remember correctly follow the lead off each exhaust sensor back to the first connector, unplug and then plug the Xied to make the circuit complete again.

Hopefully nightrider will have nice pictures for you.
