1) Keep it covered at all times
2) Keep it in the garage when raining
3) don't drive past construction/paving sites
OR
drive it all the time and use soap/water to dust 'er down. Much more fun. check out the various threads re: lemon pledge!!!

find a decent mobile detailer. have them do the bike while you're at work. OR,

ride to a bikini bike wash. let the chicks clean it while you indulge in an adult beverage.

You just need two bikes. One bike you ride everyday and the other keep in the garage as garage art and push it out to the driveway on sunny days.

I like it when my bike is all detailed and clean, but I guess if you ride much at all, its gonna get dirty. I guess a dirty bike is what sets apart those who ride a lot from those who don't.

+1 on the ride in the rain. Easiest.

Simple Green Car wash soap, warm water and a hose.
Pledge polish, looks great, repels dust and makes it easier to clean next time.

Lots of good tips here. The only point I'll add is to never dry wipe your paint or chrome. This will cause fine scratches.

I agree with the call the detailer reply! Just smile and write the check! The bikini bike wash is another good idea.

you'd really rather pay than spend a little hands-on time with your bike?

can't tell you how many time's i've found loose bolts, broken heat sheild clamps, etc while detailing my bike.

hey, it's your money.
