Posted this in the other pledge thread but it didn't get seen so here it is.
I may be trying out the Pledge thing this weekend. Bike Brite was ok for this last year but didn't really get the bike too clean, S100 is garbage unless I'm just using it wrong. I rinsed the ride four times over and still left spots and white lines.
The problem I have with Pledge is touching a rag to the paint, even microfiber. I never waxed the sporty in the year I had it, or this bike in the year I've had it, just spray on/spray off cleaners.
There are really no scratches or bad after effects from using an actual wipe down cleaning method? Whats the technique? Is it an immediate wipe off or let it sit for a while? How dirty is too dirty to use it?
If the bike is dirty you might want to wash it first. Dirt will scratch paint.
Also don't dry the microfiber towels in a cloths dryer, just hang them up after washing. The heat affects the material.

I always use a wash cloth, spray the cloth with pledge, wipe the bike, and remove the small amount of pledge residue with a clean wash cloth... removes all streaks. Not sure if this is the way it should be done, but it works for me.
