!!what's even more fun is that you haven't figured out how to set page views to max yet!!

yeah...funny how much discussion can be generated here over something so simple!

aren't filters supposed to be hand-tight anyway? I have a cheapo strap wrench that works just fine

I'm still on page one. I must be missing out on something.

Just for revenge I use an oil filter wrech that looks like channel lock pliers but was made for a honda shadow. Sold the bike a long time ago but still getting use out of the old wrench that I probably paid too much for. Ha Ha.

I'm now the proud(?) owner of FOUR endcap type filter wrenches, including the Harley unit - and not ONE of them fits my Purolator mc filter! Now I have to write the dang company or keep punching holes in them. I have an oil cooler adaptor in the way of any straps or channel locks.
I'm beginning to think I could MAKE one easier...

I have an oil cooler and the Kuryakyn base cylinder cover. No end cap wrench can grab the oil filter with the base cylinder cover. Only way to remove the oil filter is a strap wrench, and a good one, not the chinese crap from Harbor Freight.
I could remove the base cylinder cover to access the filter with my end cap wrench, of course, but I would have first to remove the inner primary cover cause Kuryakyn engineers design their parts like Russian dolls. lol
So 1mn to remove the filter = 20mn to remove the friggin' covers first and 20mn to put them back on. No thanks!
