Default Vin number?

Was there a certain year that they started putting vin no. on all the bike parts? If they ever did, I was told they did and never found out for sure, I have a 2001 lowrider and wondered if it was like that? terry

Have you found the VIN on any parts other than the frame of your own bike?

I have replaced many parts on my bike. And the only VIN I have seen is on the frame

It's on the engine, frame and tranny.

it used to be only on the engine then it was added to the frame and in the case of the big twins transmission in the 70's, you should find it under the engine and original trans as well as on the frame
