Yeah, and lets hope it doesn't happen again. It's amazing how fast it happens once you realize you're in a bad spot. Really thought I could muscle through it, but when the back tire started to slide out I knew it was all but over. Glad I'm able to learn from it and move on.

Glad your ego is all that got hurt. I took a small spill in the 80's on a honda cx 500.
When fresh black top gets wet, all the oil rises to the top. I was slowing down already for the intersection. When I hit the new black top it was like ice. The bike only slid about 10 feet as did I. The surface was so slick my rain suit didn't even get any rash.

I sort of did the same thing back in 78 but it was an oily spot in a left turn lane the made the bike slide right out from under me. We were only moving at about 5 mph. I just got one knee dirty but the old lady broke her leg in 3 places. I heard about that for many years. We still ride today though.
