So I got my bike delivered yesterday and I've never ridden before. Figured I'd wait until Thursday when I start the RE class. I got the stage one upgrade with SE Heavy Breather and V&H SS. That didn't last very long, got geared up, fired up the bike and rode 9 miles around my hood. I took turns from a stop, slow turns, and a few decent curves in the road. Got the bike up to 50 MPH and it felt great. I was pretty intimidated at the mere fact of going down my 110 ft gravel driveway. I gotta say, I haven't had that much fun in a long time. It was great! Glad I decided to just do it and get over the intimidation. Now I can't wait for the RE class to start and soak in all the knowledge/training. Cheers! Thanks for reading!
Keep in mind that you are basically invisible to any traffic around you, even if they make eye contact.
The first time I rode a motorcycle, many years ago, I only got about 1-1/2 miles, before a dog ran out in front of me. It went under both tires and still got up and headed for the sidewalk.
