I live in Minneapolis, MN, so Sturgis is a watermark event here. We now start watching the weather reports with great intensity (not that we don't talk about the weather all the time anyway). School for the kids starts August 27th, Labor Day is around the corner and bets are now being made when the first snow will fall. (Ugh!)
Which got me to thinking, have I ridden enough this summer? I got the bike out of storage on April 5th with 5,015 miles on it and it now has 13,764 miles, so I have put 8,749 miles on the bike this summer.
How does this compare to others, how many miles have you put on your bike this summer (or year)
2800 miles in 18 days....that's doing great. Congratulations on the new bike!
I haven't been riding every day (I should be). Been taking care of business moving, getting the kids in school, Job hunting, Looking for work.....Damn....I should be riding......
I did 4600 miles in two weeks. went from texas to new mexico, colorado, wyoming, montana, south dakota, iowa, nebraska, kanas, oklahoma, and back to texas. probably about 700 since then. it was one h*** OF an adventure. saw more stuff then could have ever imagined. it was my first long trip.
I picked up my new Street Bob April 29th. As I was pulling into my driveway last night it rolled over to 4000 miles. (had to ride an extra mile to make sure it did....LOL[sm=smiley29.gif])
I have four other bikes registered, but I haven't really kept track of the mileage on those this year. The new bike is getting the most riding though. None of my bikes get used as a daily ride. If I left them where I work, they'd be too covered with dirt & grit by the end of the day.[:@]
I have put 7700 miles on her so far this year (since the last week of March). I'm pretty sure I'll break 10000 before I have to put her away for the winter.
