Default Stranded on the highway today

I was getting off the highway this afternoon and I went to downshift and my shift linkage broke. The acorn nut came off the one end of the linkage. Not really a big deal but I had to get a ride to get another bolt. I got off the bike and locked it up and within 2 minutes I had to different people stop and offer help. It's nice to know that there are people out there willing to lend a hand.

Sad sight, broken down on the road. But, cool people stopped to help. Glad ya got
it going so quick. A bike on the side of the road is just candy for the the mishchevious (sp) types.

I had that happen in Sturgis last year going to Mt. Rushmore. I had a role of black tape in my saddle bag so I taped the crap out of it and got'er back to sturgis.

I helped fix a sport bike with the same problem last summer. He was broke down way out in the boonies. He was easily 50 miles from the closest farm, let alone service station.

We made do with a some scraps of metal and some duct tape. He was able to shift enough to get back to civilization. He was very grateful, to say the least.

Moral of the story: Duct tape rules!

MOST are looking to lend a hand...

SOME are looking to steal your bike.............

They're out there, never...EVER believe it's not possible.
Con men stare you straight in the face and make you believe what they say, they don't sneak up on you in the middle of the night....
Just a FYI.............................

Careful Will...they don't call him Section 8 for nothing.....

I like to carry aviation pliers and tie wire. You'd be surprised what can be fixed with that stuff.
