Default Help with adding sissy bar

I am trying to remove the sissy bar on my 2010 Dyna Wide. Do I need to cut the wires to the directionals, or do they unhook somewhere?

welcome to the forums. You might try the dyna section for your Q. I don't think wires and sissybars have much to do with eachother though.

I don't have a WG but the wires do plug in somewhere under there. If you do have to take them out you have to take the plug off. At least on my SB the plug would'nt fit through the fender.

Follow the wires from the turn signals back under the fender toward the front of the bike. At some point (haven't had to do this on a 10 WG yet so I can't say for certain where) there will be a connector. Unplug the connector and remove the pins from the t/s side of the connector. Should be able to pull them though after that. Be careful removing the pins as the plastic connectors can be easy to damage if you haven't done it before. I know some people who will instead get a little slack in the wiring, pop off the t/s lens and then remove the wires from the back of the bulb bucket and pull them through the other way.

If the side plates are not slotted, on my 2005 wide glide, the turn signal connectors are in the tail light assembly. Just disconnect them and pull the wires through the fender and brace.

No more tail light assembly on the 2010 WGs. Not sure where the connectors are on 'em. I'll take a look for you tomorrow at work if we have one at the shop.

Actually the Stock plates are not slotted. Which was a surprise to me. I thought this was gonna be a 15 miute job.
