In general, the typical biker going 10-15 over is paying a lot more attention and alot more safety conscious than the typical lowered Civic with the coffee-can muffler and wing going the same speed.
But I bet if a cop was a hardcore Civic enthusiest, he might lower the radar gun for his brother too!
We have been quite lucky around here with LEO's,except for the young rookies, the veterans are Okay people. One morning out with big block Cobra, took off from a stop sign rowing up through the gears, tires just barely making noise. As I was getting ready to grab third oss in the distance noticed an LEO with his Speed gun pointing at me,of course I slowed down to the limit,on my way by he gave me the slow down signal.A friend says he probably let it go because of my grey hair.Whatever,it sure got the heart a pumping. Thanks to you good guys.
Most of the LEO's around where I am are pretty much live and let live .. Act like a fool in traffic blipping the throttle and weaving in and out of other vehicles .. They will get you.. Just cruise along safely even at 10 MPH over and usually have no worries..

I was in the Memorial Day Parade in town this year with my bike and not my helmet. That is a real no no in NYS. Had two cops come up to me(and I start chiting my pants) and say that is an awesome bike. I said thanks and keep up with the parade, feeling much better.

I ride about 20 miles each way to work and back and each way almost every day I see a NHP bike cop going the oppisite direction. I always wave and he waves back. A couple of days ago I was coming home from work and saw a cage Leo with a guy stopped and was putting him in his car in cuffs, a few miles up the road I see a bike coming the oppisite direction and do the pat the top of my helmet to let him know about the Leo, then reliaze it's the Leo I always wave to and say to myself oops. He pats the top of his helmet and gives me a thumbs up. I know he was laughing his *** off and so was I.
