Default List 3 things...

Awright let's hear from the those of you who have been at this for a while...

If you had to list 3 "do's" for a new rider of a HD bike, what would they be? No suggestion too dumb!

Do read the owners manual
Do get the maintenance manual
Do keep your head in the game anytime you are on board

1. Regardless of how much experience you may have, take a riding course and then practice on a regular basis. Never stop learning.

2. Make the bike fit you.

3. Make motorcycling a part of your life and not a lifestyle.

1. take Moto Training
2. Practice Slow speed moves (Parking lot) turns to left/right full lock from a start position, "U turns" etc. anything "slow speed that is needed, then repeat evertime you go out for 1/2 hour, (I still do this most everytime!
3. See number 2 above
I can not believe the riders i see having problems with slow speed moves, they are "good" at going fast! but stopping and turning is another issue!

New rider of an HD? so, not a new rider of motorcycles in general, just HDs.

1. Buy the HD service manual

2. Buy the right torque wrenches

3. When you mod an HD, go for comfort before performance, because the performance will never be that great anyway.....it's a top-shelf cruising bike. go for comfort and enjoy it.

1. Do go on forums and ask questions.
2. Always listen to the answers.
3. Never ask a question like that again.

Sorry, I also meant to say that anyone with an a$$hat reply, just hit the [BACK] button on your screen. I'm not here to be cool or to impress you.

Thanks to everyone.

1. Loosen up, relax.
2. Ride at your own pace and within your skill level.
3. Enjoy the ride.
