I am looking to get a harley jacket for riding in evening and home from work at night. Reflective piping or something of that nature on jacket would be a plus. Any ideas? Also would like to get matching jackets for wife and myself.
I don't know the name of the Harley version but I saw an interesting black nylon mesh jacket with reflective piping at a dealer in the past few weeks. I have a Joe Rocket nylon mesh jacket from about 10 years ago and it's great in the summer. it protects you from the road, keeps the sun off of you and allows the breeze through to keep you cool. I've found it to be cooler than just a T-shirt because the sun isn't baking my skin.
I've been wearing a TourMaster mesh jacket for the last 2 years. Like bmorebhoy said, it keeps the sun from baking my skin yet provides good air flow when I'm moving. My only complaint is the heavy armor that's built into it. I can appreciate the safety the armor provides but sometimes it's just plain uncomfortable and I end up riding in just a t-shirt. I also saw a nice mesh jacket at H-D that doesn't come with the armor although there are pockets for lightweight armor sold separately. It's been very tempting but I just can't get past the $125 price tag right now.
I have a perforated leather jacket I wear in the summer with just a tee shirt on underneath. Works great unless it gets really hot and you're just riding around town.

In the summer I wear a vest and long-sleeved shirt. My wife still wears her Schott Perfecto. I do have a couple of reflective harley back patches I've been meaning to get sewn on for riding at night.
As far as matching jackets...I guess opinions differ.
We wear the Harley High-Vis Mesh Jacket 98256-09VM (aka Road Cone); Comes with removable armor and you can add hydration packs. Comfy, Wife has the mens, but Harley does have a womans version. Do not go out at night without it.

Ditto. People tell me all the time "I saw you coming a mile away" and I really like that. I've noticed that when I wear black clothing people have a propensity to pull out in front of me.
When the temps reach triple digits, I wear a Techniche Deluxe (w/Hyperkewl) vest under the jacket, which keeps my core temperatures nice and cool for a couple hours. When I stop for gas I also dunk the jacket in a waterproof sack and add a quart or so of water and let it soak 5 minutes while I enjoy a cool drink. Then I'm good to go another fuel stop in the hot Mojave desert.
