I had to drill one off recently, just took a minute and the remaining part spun right out.

And if all that fails, buy a new primary cover.

+1 on dremmel tool slotting the head and use a bladed screwdriver. Worked on 3 of the torx screws I over-tightened. I also learned to use anti-sieze on the heads and threads, and always torque to specs. Good luck, been there done that.... it isn't fun.

I went out and bought a left hand drill bit set. Started it and it came right out didn't even damage the threads. Thanks for all of the tips. It was just a really frustrating experience. second question where do you find replacement torx heads? I looked in 2 hardware stores and they dont carry torx or a washer of that size? I know it is 1/4-3/4 stainless steel, just can't find one.

Use allen head screws. Our local hardware store carries chrome ones.
