Exclamation Nightster Wobble

Hey guys, got a quick question and looking for any help! I have a 2007 Nightster and every time I get above about 90 MPH I get a crazy wobble going on. My Nightrain I could do 125 easy! Im freakin scared to do 110 on the nighster. Is this common, if so any fixes??? Like I said any help much appreciated.

You could have a bad or unbalanced front tire, loose spokes front or rear, but the most likely culprity would be the neck bearing adjustment. You need to check fall away. The swing arm could have play but that's not as likely as the others.

Someone told me to put a fork brace on, it helps with wobble.

check the neck bearing adustment bro...i was getting a nasty wobble at 80+ mph...it turns out the neck bearings were too loose

Oh no, i am looking at going back to a sporty (nightster) as my dyna is a nightmare in corners at 70+mph

Please let us know what fixes this....if it comes down to a swingarm issue i will assume the 11" shocks are the main problem, thats part of the issue with lowered dyna's....

if thats the case i think we will hear alot more of this on here!

Not to hijack the tread, but the Dyna should be as stable as a rock. I would look at those neck bearings as well. High speed wobble as mentioned can be any number of things but I would also lean toward neck bearing adjustment. Check the simple things first. spokes etc. On the Dyna, I would also verify power train alignment as well as the neck bearing adjustment. Both common with any handling problems with a Dyna. When right that bike should scrape the pegs in corners like its on rails. Mine always did unless needing an adjustment.

As stated check the bearing and front tire first. A fork brace and adding a steering damper would make a HUGE difference. But they also cost a little $$$.

fork braces just mask the problem.

possible causes:
bent fork
improperly torqued fork pinch-bolts
loose steering head
low air pressure in either tire
swingarm bushings
imbalance in suspension preload
wheel bearings
something loose somewhere on the bike

Thanks Rickr01!, it rode well until i lowered the front and back....spokes are solid, and i am told by the dealer my neck bearings are "good" ( mech at the dealer even said that in his opinion early dyna frames were way too light and the low degree of rake is the real issue....ever hear that one?)....now- power train alignment has yet to ever been brought up on this.....everyone just says buy the "TRUE TRACK" and at that point i was simply over it ( gets expensive as you need to buy new motor mounts, swingarm bushings and bearings...).....so i was finally done, time for a XL1200 again... BUT,, I will look into this, just seems like way too many people have the exact same issue with lowered dyna's

My apologies as well, didn't mean to hi-jack this thread

Cheers
