Default Extention floor board question

Ok so I would like to extend my floorboards, but what I cant see is where the brake/shifter is extended to suit the board?
I mean are you having to put your foot at an angle to change gear and brake?

Sorry if I sound dim, but i needed to ask.

They are meant to move your feet out about 3/4 of an inch to keep your legs off the tank and away from the heat. Its not a big deal. And its cheap, effective and easy to install the kit. One of the best mods I ever did to my Road King.

Check out your feet when your riding, if your like most of us the outer half of your foot is hanging off the side of the boards and you never touch the inside inch.
The levers don't move so using them is the same as before.

That inch makes a huge difference. You won't have any brake or shifting issues.

I'm 5'7 and I have the wider 6 gallon tank. Was a pain to curl my short legs back into the floorboards so I ordered up some extensions from HarleyGoodies. Boards are much more comfortable and no problems reaching the controls. Had the same concern about having to rotate my feet back in but nope ... it's great! My foot position hasn't changed. It's just that now the boards are fully under them.

The extensions are basically just 4 metal squares that sit between the frame and the 4 mounting points on the boards. You also get 4 new, longer bolts. Piece of cake.

BTW - they have a pretty hefty discount if you go to them via the forums.

I've really been wanting to get some extensions, but am worried about scrapping the boards when I turn. I am a spirited rider and sometimes I do scrape the boards. I guess I could just drive a little more slowly. Do you see much less lean angle with the extensions???
