This is the craziest route I have ever seen. (Great roads though!)

I thought they were supposed to be heading North??????

Trying to guess the next checkpoint. Will it be crossing the Colorado at Page, AZ, Hoover Dam, or furthur south to Laughlin to get some CA?

According to Chris' blog site. The next checkpoint is Rock Springs, WY.

Exactly the opposite direction he is currently moving in!

EDIT: I just am not buying the Rock Springs checkpoint... It looks like they are heading toward the Grand Canyon, I suppose Chris could start heading back North East, but it wouldn't make a lot of sense.

Nothing about the routes seems to make sense. I have been reading a lot of the remakes on Facebook and it seems like they are giving some riders highway routes and other riders rural routes. Not sure but that is what has been reported on the facebook comments.

from what i gather there are a few riders jumping on the interstate, and if i recall corectly the given route isnt supposed to be using the interstate. if thats the case the riders doign the interstate should be Dq'd from the big prize money (which is still in question)

if anyone has direct contact with irona *** or the other HDF riders let them know NOT to tell canada customs they are in a race, competition or other sporting event when crossing. reason for crossing is pleasure/passing through to alaska they WILL most defintly get held up at the border for further inspection if they state the yare in a road race etc etc.

Southaven (checkpoint 2) to Rock Springs (checkpoint 3) is roughly 1400 miles. The map that was given to the challengers in Southaven was a 2700 mile route. They will be zigzagging all over the place

fromt he facebook group posted by Greg Hood
Gary Hood Alex Hood running in 2nd place at the time was hit on I-40 coming into Flagstaff, the driver took off after the collison. The highway patrol thinks he may have fallen asleep, clipped the front of the bike and caused it to crash in the median. Alex is in the hospital in Flagstaff with back injuries and possibly a broken shoulder. The bike is totaled, his wife is driving in from Colorado to be with him. I just talked with him, and he said he got the bike down to about 35 and steered for the dirt, terminal steering wobble tumbled the bike many times.
