Well, I don't have much to protect up there so I need to make it last as long as possible lol, so I wear a helmet and put the hat in the saddle bags.

 

That's what I do, with the hat like it was meant to be worn. Helps keep the sun out of my eyes.
Never understood the backwards hat style. Just looks pointless and goofy to me. I guess I'm more interested in practicality than looking "cool".
