He will walk with only probation at the most. Killing a biker in Iowa means nothing.
But they are up in arms to reinstate the helmet law cause some old guy was run over by a truck and another lost a leg in an accident. WTF good would a helmet have done in either case????
NOTE TO SELF: 1) SEND ABATE MORE MONEY. 2) KICK EM ALL OUT IN NOVEMBER.
Wife and I rode up to Maine a couple weeks ago. Some dumbass had 2 kiyaks come loose on the interstate. Phukin things were all over the road. I stay well away from anything that is tied to but is not part of a vehicle.

Referring to your wife, eh? NHTSA recommends if your wife has to be tied to the bike to keep from falling off, she should take up a safer hobby.
Like Oldairboater, I was lucky. 1980 and my mother was dying in Hutzel Hospital in Detroit. I was in a hurry. Tailgating the car in front of me coming down off the Rouge River Bridge and the nice guy in front of me must have thought I was too close. At what must have been the last second for him, he swerved hard left and left me looking at a mattress laying in the center of the lane. When he swerved, I started to also, wondering what the heck, and luckily missed the mattress. (God looks out for drunks and idiots - and I wasn't drinking). Taught me a couple of things others have already stated. I no longer close in on the person in front of me. I don't trust what I can't see. I think, without knowing how, that was when I learned to countersteer. I'm slower now, so I give everyone much more room.
My sympathy to the family of the deceased. Truly sorry for their loss.
