Question Dyno tune

I have an 09 superglide an I want to bolt on a cool air cleaner that accepts a k&n. Also, my bro has a set of se pipes that I want to slap on too. Soooo...dyno tune? Warranty issues? Wait till warranty runs out?

why bother with a dyno tune? get the sert, datalog, rebuild the map. or let the dealer do a canned download.

dyno tuning is expensive. the net result isnt worth the money cause a sportster will leave you in the dust.

I must respectfully disagree with your assessment. A proper dyno tune will address areas that a canned map won't.

Put on all the extras - invest in a SEST by all means - and then find a reputable dyno tuner.

Expensive - yes - but well worth the money...

Correct me if im wrong but doesnt the dealer remap the stock ecm during a dyno tune? Why would I buy a sert? Also, how costly is th dyno tuning? And btw, your sporty and my dyna will never be as fast as my r1...

You're getting some pretty bad advice here...slide on down to the Tech forums and spend some time in the "tuner" threads.

You have many options and each will yield different results. Some are a notch above snake oil and others will give great results...some might even cause damage.

Ultimately, it's your bike and your decision.

a proper dyno tune will only drain your wallet. learn to use your sert. tune your bike for real world conditions.

my other bike was done the same way racers do it: by data logging and tuning. it romps. no dyno bs needed.

A TTS, SERT or SEPST is the only way your ECM can be tuned with a dyno.

You've got nothing listed to tune?

A dealer can zap your stock ECM, think Stage 1, to account for your breather and pipes but that's about it until you purchase a PC, SERT or SEST.

edit: I see tgshoe beat me to it...

No dyno for me, mostly cause I'm to cheap to do it, and I'm pretty satisfied for now w/my PCIII and canned map from Fuel Moto.

If your gonna do A/C and pipes your gonna need some type of fuel manager or your bike will be running even leaner than it is now.
